Anzac Day

The whole of newcastle turned out to the cricketers arms for a bit of two up action, including that bald guy marty from one of the australian idol cycles, and paloma from the current australian model series. The pit was full, and i raised my hand in the air with a ten dollar bill to bet on heads. Goods time, i wa sup forty bucks and then down, and then up again and then finally i broke even. Earlier in the day i got to see all the anzac day services from greta to lambton while on delivery for Roscos ice cream.

Im still looking for a sweet ride to travel around australia. I figure, if you only have to have you L plates for three months, on a 250cc, and then take the provisional test. If you can step up the CC on your p plates, i wont even have t0 start with a 250cc bike, because i know how to ride on my dirt bike, and ill just borrow a 250 cc bike for the p plate test. But the RTA will probably screw me over and ill have to stay on 250cc for a few years, bastards. But if not i can go straight to a fat boy harley davidson. 1100cc... i can feel the power already.

it's anzac day dude, it's an acronym for: Australia and New Zealand Army Corp. I think when the soldiers were sent to galipolli in WW1, they played the aussie gambling game of 2-up; and every year when we remember those fallen, we are allowed to play two-up, which is illegal every other day of the year. I'm not sure which battle they played it exactly, but its something like that.
It's a pretty cool game, and is basically just a game of heads or tales. There are three pennies, and you put them on a little two-up chucker to throw them up in the air, the two up chucker is basically just a bit of wood. Anyway, everyone standing around waves their money in the air, and shouts if they want heads or tails, and the person who wants heads, holds the cash. And if tails comes up, you hand over the sweet cash. It's old school, because you don't bet with a mediator, you just bet with the hooligans in the crowd, so its up to good ol' aussie honesty, and no one wants to lie on anzac day.

dude, i know what ANZAC day is, you told me (and everyone else) all about it at that party at the end of last semester... plus, i am a history major. and i have a minor in whatever happens to be relevant to the conversation at any point in time (sound familiar?) lol
i wore the australia jersey you gave me today to my cold war class, which has an australian professor, and he thoroughly enjoyed it and lectured about cricket for awhile... but i was severely hassled by a multitude of other people because of it, which is odd because i've worn it before and never been hassled. so i hope you appreciate that i still hype your country at UVa in your stead.
two more weeks at this hellhole and i'm going back to roanoke. i will personally be cracking skulls to make sure your jackets get sent out as well. my mom & dad claimed to have misplaced them during the move, but they are found now and i will get them out your way ASAP.
and your doggy really does have an uncanny resemblance to you... that old shit about people and their pets looking alike is proven once again. see you soon.

Wow Dan, I take a week off work with a sprained ankle and you've turned back into the blogging fiend you used to be! 3 posts in one week. That's gotta be some sort of record.
It was good to see you at coles last night too. I ended up having a Mcain Pizza sub for dinner. It's just like a regular pizza, only elongated. It wasn't very good. But luckily I'd already eaten a massive burger at the Bar Beach Bowlo so I wasn't that hungry. But if anyone is at the Bar Beach Bowlo, I highly reccommend the open beef burger. It's an awesome feed and it's only 10 bucks.
Anyway, that's all i have to say about that. So what did you end up having for dinner?

we cooked up a storm, i helped by cutting the sweet potato, and then trying to show joanne how to cut an onion because aussie ones are apparently quite different. THere was grilled banana, and steak and onion and a cool salad. And then ice cream with ice magic for desert.
'ah mcain you've done it again!', dude its 7.00am and now all youve got me thinking about is the open beef burger, im so hungry, i might head into bar beach bowlo.
